Roadway Electric's sound safety program includes emphasis on supervisory training (Fall Protection, Trenching and Excavation, Forklift Operation, First Aid/CPR), formal weekly crew meetings, and daily individual task training. Frequent jobsite safety evaluations are conducted by an experienced safety department staff and by all levels of management.

The company utilizes an innovative behavior-based S.T.A.R.T.™ (Supervisor Training in Accident Reduction Techniques) safety program, which targets at-risk or critical behaviors that have resulted in company injuries, and requires observation of each crew's safety behaviors at least twice per month. Those observations are then used as further training for the crews, and for determining employee safety awards. It involves commitment and participation by all levels of management and supervision.
